Sat evening we had a friend over. We put kids to bed and watched 2 movies pretty much back to back. Stayed up till 1 anyway. Then with the time change it was really 2 :~ Anyway I want to give you a review of the movies we watched cause I didn’t like the first one abut really, really liked the second one!!
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Rotten Tomatoes gives this one an 87%
- Daniel Craig
- Rooney Mara
*Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker.*
The story line to the movie was okay. A reporter investigates a missing woman. He needs help -in enters an assistance. They work together to fins a killer and the missing woman.
The director showed both lives fairly well. The life of the assistant was one was of hardship, and brilliance. She is a computer hacker and very good at it. However she is very intimate with others and I found that disturbing. Like really do I need to see you getting all naked every time you turn around 😦 I found it really took away from the story line. Daniel Craig -the journalist had a good part. The family that he is investing is from Sweden. Therefore the have Swedish names and I found that hard to follow.
Overall not a good movie in my books.
The Woman in Black
Rotten Tomatoes gives this movie a 65%
- Daniel Radcliffe
- Ciaran Hinds
*A young lawyer travels to a remote village where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals.*
I LOVED this movie. The story line had the basic plot as the book but that is where it ended. So if you read the book don’t expect the movie to be the same.
I found this movie to be predictable. you know what is gonna happen, you know you are going to be scared but it still scares you!! Most Ghost stories bring in the religion and the spiritualism and this one did to a small extent. It left it more as a true ghost story. The movie played on your emotion and the fact that the actor was all alone in a dark, creepy house. The shapes and shadows are always moving and mirrors lie!! 🙂
Definitely a good, clean spook-your-socks-off movie that every adult can enjoy!!
