Chores and a Happy Attitude

On Mon feb 27 -something weird/exciting/scary happened to me.

It started with my Daughter, HoneyBear, who was in a good mood and stated she was going to clean the house for me. I smiled and nodded “yes that’s good, please do your school work.” Next thing I know my 6 yr old son, SuperHero came downstairs and told me he had cleaned his room. SO up I went to check it out. And it was SPOTLESS, including under the bed and in the closet!!  I was so proud and I gave him a big smile and hug to show it!! Then he asked for a sticker. I said “yes, you may have one”

This is were it gets weird  🙂  🙂 They all started competing for STICKERS. They started doing or asking for this chore and ‘can I clean that’. It was fun to watch 3 little ones(k maybe not so little anymore) clean the house. I BlackBerry Messenger their Dad and told him how scared I was at this moment haha. When he came home I made him comment so the kids could feel that we appreciated them doing this.

Now how can I repeat this lovely, wonderful event. I should keep more stickers in the house from now on 🙂  🙂

Eph 1-3 Review

I am halfway through Eph! I started Jan 15 and the halfway point was Feb 25 2012. The main point that really struck me was that Ephesians is about God bringing us all – Jews, Gentiles ,blacks ,whites, rich, poor – together. We are one in Christ!! I use the KJV Bible. It is my bible of preference. 🙂

God’s Will

VS.1   Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

Paul starts Eph off with stating that it was the will of God that Paul was an apostle. It has been stated that Paul was the apostle to the gentiles. You can confirm that statement here: he was an apostle to the saints at Ephesus and to the faithful. “The faithful” has no specific place but to ALL the faithful!! I believe this was a letter to all of us written by the hand of Paul because it was God’s will. God’s will that we know the love and unity and the price of what Christ has done!

VS. 5  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

“The good pleasure”. Doesn’t that just fill your soul with joy!! God wanted to, foresaw. and made a way for  us to be adopted!! It was his pleasure that we be his children. Think of the joy you felt when you first realized that you were pregnant or that you were going to adopt -nothing compares to that joy that God felt when he knew there was a way back to his arms!! AMEN!

VS. 9Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: (VS.10)That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; [even] in him: (VS.11) In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Here he makes know to us the mystery of his will. Plus again we find that it is his good pleasure that he purposed (intended ,had a goal ,determined) in himself that we should know. What is that mystery? Vs. 10 sums it: “gather in one all thing in christ” – unity!! His will – that was so long a mystery -is that everyone is the same in Christ!! Man makes divisions and denominations, man makes us separate with our religion but God makes us one in Christ. If you have received Christ and believe on him then you and I are one!! You and I may go to different churches, read different Bibles, have different convictions but IN CHRIST we are one. We should be able to put aside our differences to have sweet fellowship through Christ.  🙂

AND while we are talking about mysteries:

VS. 3How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, (VS.4)Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) (VS.5)Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; (VS.6)That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Mystery of Christ revealed!!  Paul let’s us know that this mystery was revealed to him and not to him only but to God’s holy apostles and prophets. Therefore Paul know has knowledge of it and wants to share it with us. Then He gives us the mystery :  That the Gentiles should be 1)fellowheirs -children of God, be of the same body, and be partakers of Christ’s promise by the gospel.  What a sweet and refreashing thought that I, as a gentile, can be equal to what the Jews had – a relationship with God!!

VS 9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

This verse let’s us know that it is the FELLOWSHIP of the mystery. fellowship = 1)friendly relationship; companionship: the fellowship of father and son. 2)community of interest, feeling, etc. 3)communion, as between members of the same church. We can have a friendly relationship with others, we can have common interest through Christ, and we can come together in a church and have something in common!! All is possible through the works of Christ!!

Grace, Riches, and Glory

These three words seem to be popping up in different phrases. I want to list the various phrase for you:

1:6 to the praise of the glory of his grace

1:7 to the riches of his grace

1:12 to the praise of his glory

1:14 unto the praise of his glory

1:18 the riches of his glory

1:19 exceeding greatness of his power (not one of the three words but exceeding)

2:7 the exceeding riches of his grace

3:2 the grace of God

3:7 the gift of the grace of God

3:8 the unsearchable riches of Christ

3:16 the riches of his glory

These verses just touch my heart!! It was the grace of God that saved me!! It was the grace of God that set my feet on a rock and established my going!! It was the grace of God that saw through my sinful nature and loved me!!

I don’t know about you but I can always use more riches -yes the material kind 🙂 Here, though, we have something far more better -the riches of God. The unsearchable riches -unsearchable, never ending!!  They will always be there when you need them. No matter what we have  eternal riches abiding within us. WE also have the riches of his glory and the riches of his grace!! I don’t think I can add anymore to that then I am so glad I am a multimillionaire a billion times over!!

Praise of his glory! we should praise God. It should be there on our tongue in good times and bad times. why? Cause the eternal riches of his glory has been given to us. Sometimes we lose sight when we face physical time, when we focus on this world and our troubles only. Yet we should look inward and upward. Christ dwells in our heart yet resides on the throne in heaven!!

I am so happy for these first few chapters. they have been a balm to my heavy soul these last few weeks!!  Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus for all you have done -saved my soul, given me riches beyond compare, loved me when I was yet unlovable!!

No Rest for the Dead

The authors : 26 writers !!

That is what intrigued me to burrow this book. How can 26 people write one book? Well, they can write one beautifully! The story really flows, the characters are full of depth -you feel their pain, sorrow, greed , and the plot keeps you coming back!

Coming back? yes, I felt this story plodded on. I felt this story had a lot of fillers -describing characters and the settings, getting the plot and story to flow. That has always bugged me in a book. I like action books and books that keep me glued to the story. Plus I really, really hate when authors tease you with who-did-it yet don’t tell you anything. Some Authors -like Mary Higgins Clark -can pull that off. This book made me want to flip to the back and find out what really happened.

All -in- All  it was a good for once read. If you haven’t read this book please do. I mean how often do you get a book that flows even when written by 26 people!! This book will have you keep coming back because you’ll want to find out more. But if you don’t like slow books beware. 🙂

Dancing

I had a fun time last night. It started by my Hubby asking me if I wanted to go dancing with him. At first I was all like O_o, then I was like 😀  lets do it.

I know that must shock some of you -here I am stating “Christian” beliefs and doing Bible studies yet I drink and dance. Well that’s why my blog says Moderation.  I don’t go dancing every night -except for in my own home with my own hubby. I didn’t get drunk/drunk, therefore last night was just a mild buzz.

At the same time that I was having fun my heart was breaking a bit. You see one of our good friends just got the ax from his girlfriend 😦  SO when we first started the night at my house it was pretty sad. Then we went to a mutual (girl)friends house. That is where we left are sad friend. Those two had been for a long time and went through many things together. SO that was a bit of balm there. Hubby and I went dancing and got home at 1.

All in all a good Friday!!  Now for a relaxing evening tonight with “Dexter” or another movie and we are all set!!  🙂

Have a Happy Weekend Everyone

Disappointed

Today I found the coolest site : BookSneeze  They offer free books to bloggers in exchange for reviews! Like how cool is that!!

Unfortunately I got a decline email. Seems like it is for US only. AGAIN! I am so tired of US only sites. (sorry all you Americans but it gets frustrating seeing give aways and sites like this only to be told US only :~)

Any way another reason to decline was the amount of viewers on the blog site. Seeing as how I am a baby site I understand that 🙂  When I get fully up and running I might try again because by then maybe they’ll have Canadian content!

In the meantime anyone know any Canadian sites that offer books to readers??  🙂

“OPPRESSION” paperback book

I was invited to a giveaway today!  SO first off A big THANK YOU for this. Both for the invite and for the giving away of a free book

Soumi from  Pages From My Thoughts is hosting this wonderful giveaway.

The book : Oppression by Jessica Therrien

about : Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She’s been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than the average person, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she’s closer to eighty. Second, that her blood has a mysterious power to heal. For Elyse, these things don’t make her special. They make life dangerous. After the death of her parents, she’s been careful to keep her secret as closely guarded as possible. Now, only one other person in the world knows about her age and ability. Or so she thinks. Elyse is not the only one keeping secrets. There are others like her all over the world, descendants of the very people the Greeks considered gods. She is one of them, and they have been waiting for her for a long time. Among so many of her kind, she should not be very remarkable–except for the prophecy. Some believe she will put an end to traditions, safeguarded by violence, which have oppressed her people for centuries. Others are determined to keep her from doing just that. But for Elyse, the game is just beginning–and she’s not entirely willing to play by their rules.

It sounds very interesting. What interests me the most is the phrase “The Greeks considered gods”. I like books that have magic/powers/specialties to them. That is my escape from reality -the ability to do things extraordinary!

The cover looks beautiful. I love the color! The face closed with a hint of eye shadow just looks intriguing. I would definitely pick a book like this based on cover alone!!

Bonus : this will be a signed copy sent from the Author herself! So a big thanks to Jessica Therrien!!
